2023 Youth Theatre Classes

This winter we are offering a 3 month drama class aimed at young people who have worked with us before and want more performance experience. Classes will work on a short original adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Nightingale - a story about nature’s value in a world that fawns over flashy technologies.  This short show will be performed in conjunction with Earth Day Celebrations.  

Dates and Times

Thursday Evenings starting January 18th - April 18th (No classes March break)

5:00 - 6:15 = Jr. Class (7-9)

6:30 - 7:45 = Sr. Class (9-11) 

 

Plus Sunday April 9th and 16th from 2pm-4pm

Students must be available the weekend of April 20th and 21st for rehearsal and performance

 

Fees and Registration

We have space for only 9 kids per class

Early Bird Registration before December 24th $275 for 15 classes plus performance

Registration after December 24th $300

Singing & Dance
Intro to Personal Storytelling

Presented by Almonte Readers and Writers

Thursdays - MARCH 7, 14, 21, 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Mills Public Library

In this participatory lecture series, vulnerability, humour and connection are guiding values as participants dive into personal moments big and small. Participants will work from creative prompts to accumulate material, and learn storytelling structure and performance techniques to help them deliver their own story with a sense of confidence and play.
